If you ever wished to do something else in life…to change your main activity…you have the chance to follow the footsteps of a geologist, biologist or speleologist – visiting the sixth biggest cave in the world “Emil Racovita”.
The cave complex is in the village of Criva, the western point of Moldova, situated at the border of three countries Moldova, Ukraine and Romania. Once passed the old meadows of Prut river you can discover sand, prund, gravel stratification – sedimentary rocks formed 5 mil years ago, when the territory was fully covered of Marmata Sea.
You will discover a natural monument, untouched of tourist exploitation and pollution.
Recommended: to extreme amateur tourists, that like to be challenged and to discover new things, as well as for specialists.

Interesting to see:
- third largest gypsum cave in the world and parts of the complex are only accessible via large wells, a network of underground galleries stretches over 89 km (291,991 ft) and is split across several levels.
- the huge caves have been given names such as "Cinderella’s Hall", "Columns Hall", "Dacia’s Hall", "100 m Hall" reflecting their size and grandeur.

- several underground lakes with a 0.5 to 2 m deep including the "Blue Lake", "Dinosaurs Lake", "Nautilus Lake" etc., which, according to hydro-chemical analysis, are rich in minerals and can have a curative effect on the human body.

Note: There are no trail markers but visitors are able to explore the caves in small groups with an experienced guide. It’s must to be good equipped with: old, unused cloths, waterproof boots, protection casque, lantern, photo camera.
